nobody is perfect
CSiS is constantly improving and occasionally we all run into one problem or another. sometimes the problems you encounter can be caused by a typo or error in the code and other times it may very well be the way your computer system is configured. to help you narrow the list of possible causes down, here are some recommended steps that will help you to determine and possibly resolve any problems you are encountering while using CSiS.
the game does not start
CSiS requires a reasonably modern PC with the latest drivers and the latest DirectX 9.0c update. Check the
requirements page if you are uncertain if the game is able to run on your machine. If you are running Windows Vista or 7, install DirectX 9 as it might come with DrectX 10 or 11 respectively, which does not include the 9.0 libraries. Download drivers and libraries from
the support page. Those operating systems also need you to install the game in Administrator mode. Check the
installation page how to do it.
the game crashes while loading, also, the start menu icons are broken
If you are running Windows Vista or 7, you need to install the game in Administrator mode. Check the
installation page how to do it. Otherwise, the installation will be incomplete and will not work properly.
the game runs very slowly
CSiS requires a reasonably modern PC with the latest drivers and the latest DirectX 9.0c update. Check the
requirements page if you are uncertain if the game is able to run on your machine. CSiS offers a wide range of graphics options to reduce the visual quality to make the game run faster on older hardware. Check the
video and audio tab on the system options window. We recommend to swith off the shadows and reduce the game resolution first before reducing the visibility or objects detail.
your friends cannot connect to your internet server
In order to host a match, you need to open certain ports in your router/firewall. Check the
paragraph on opening ports on the host page how to do it. Otherwise, the server will be registered, but others will not be able to connect.
