CSiS help system: host games

opening ports

in order to be able to host games, you have to open certain ports on your router, otherwise, other players won't be able to see and connect to your server.

SCREENSHOT

csis requires you to open port 5556 to 5559 for the UDP protocol that, in case your server is located behind a router in a local network, have to be forwarded to the same ports on your target/server machine.

the launcher: host games

when you start CSiS from your desktop shortcut or your windows start menu, you will be greeted with the animated launcher window. the button "host" takes you to the host window / game creator, which will be explained on this page.

game options

this area will let you customize the game you want to host in a very comfortable way.

game mode:
select a game mode for the map. this mode is not changeable and will remain active until you shut down the server.
detailed information about every mode can be found here.

select a map for the game to start with. this map is freely changeable by the administrator/host during games, before and after rounds.
detailed explanation about the maps can be found here.

credits at start:
this value determines how many credits the player receives when the round starts. it is also the lower cash limit for players in general.

credits maximum:
this value determines how many credits a player can hold at max. even if players gain more credits for frag or round points, their funds will be limited by this number.

round time:
sets a time limit for each round, not for the server in general. values in minutes.

mines:

you can determin in which order the CSiS maps will be played on your server.

edit bot names:
you can add and delete bot names with the help of this editor.
