CSiS help system: the launcher

the launcher

when you start CSiS from your desktop shortcut or your windows start menu, you will be greeted with the animated launcher window. there is no other way to start CSiS but with the launcher, so don't bother messing around with the engine *.exe files directly in the CSiS installation directory.



the launcher buttons

the buttons on its bottom provide you access to the game itself, allow you to customize your appearance, logos, controls, audio and video setup, and so forth.

host game:
host an online or LAN game. this button might not be available if you got the free client of CSiS, which can only join games, but not host them.

join game:
join an online or LAN game.
this feature will be discussed in detail here.

tutorial:
learn how to play CSiS. you do not need to be connected to the internet to do so.

options:
opens the options window for CSiS, where you can customize your player logo, your colors, key controls, video and audio settings.

online:
takes you to the CSiS website, csis-game.net.

help:
brings up this very document.

credits:
show the credits list in the animated view on top of those buttons.

exit:
brings you back to your windows desktop.

the launcher quicklook

quicklook is our way of telling you which gamer profile is activated. it tells you your login name as well as your connection status plus the status of the logo sending permission. you might want to change the name and the permission before joining a match for the first time via the options window.
